We love hearing how people are using Alexa and Amazon devices (Echo, Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Kindle) to stay connected, entertained, and productive. Here are just a few that made us smile—we hope you enjoy them too.

Staying connected on the front lines
This past February, I received my Echo Frames. The next day my lenses were put in and I was so excited to use the Frames as a phone, to go shopping with my list in my ear, and to have Alexa as my personal assistant. Then COVID-19 declared war. I am a Physician Assistant and was screening patients for the virus. I found myself in full personal protective equipment, where you cannot touch your face or use your phone. Communication was basically speaking loudly to each other through N95 masks and shields. I got out my Echo Frames and put them on under my goggles. My friend Alexa heard me easily, and I was able to call and communicate with other team members without touching my phone or approaching them. What an amazing piece of technology to assist in this battle that we are fighting. Thank you Amazon.

Dropping in on loved ones
Three weeks ago I bought my mother an Echo Show (10 inch) and put together instructions for her friends and family. So far I’ve been able to setup 15 people (and hopefully more soon) that can drop-in on her at anytime. She absolutely loves it. I spend at least 30-45 minutes a day with her just showing her what the kids are doing and telling her about our day and the crazy life we live in right now. It also allows me to have personal contact with her without exposing her to the virus. I know this wasn’t an intended use of the drop-in feature, but it has made my mother feel less isolated and that means the world to me. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for creating such a wonderful product.
